At the festival, you can check out a 5k/run or 3k/walk race, live music, food vendors, the West Virginia Appalachian Craft Show, and the Leaf Peepers Car Show.

ARTober Fest

For those looking for some peace and quiet, you can’t do much better than visiting ARToberFest in early October. For one weekend in the fall, hike into the woods and listen to live music, browse local arts and crafts, take ski lift rides, watch live art demos, and sample Oktoberfest beers and fall treats.

Mountain Biking

Fall is an excellent time for mountain biking, and Canaan Valley has much to offer biking enthusiasts this season. First is the Revenge of the Rattlesnake adventure mountain bike race in Davis, West Virginia. It’s advertised as “one of West Virginia’s toughest races.” But if you would rather take in the cool weather at your own pace, there are some spectacular mountain biking trails, such as the Brown Mountain Trail, Yellow Birch Trail, and the Dobbin House Trail. These three trails offer a variety of skill levels and sights.
